Ocean Shores/North Beach Weather
Ocean Shores features a marine climate with cool and comparatively dry
summers and mild but relatively wet winters. As is typical in a marine
environment, brisk ocean breezes are common. It is not uncommon to have 1"
to 3" of rainfall accumulate in a short period of time during the winter months.
The average annual rainfall for past 8 years is 67.8". Mid-year temperatures
(daytime) average between 62 to 65 degrees. Seldom do temperatures dip to
freezing and we rarely see snow.

The Washington coast has a very moderate climate that is almost identical to
the Oregon Coast. Most people who frequent this stretch of coast are
surprised to find that we have a lot of sunshine when the metropolitan areas
two hours to the east are cloudy. The coast offers more sun breaks than the
Seattle/Portland area because weather systems are able to move through more
quickly since they are not blocked by the cascade mountain range.

Wikipedia says "Ocean Shores experiences an oceanic climate." An oceanic
climate, also called marine west coast climate, maritime climate, Cascadian
climate and British climate for Köppen climate classification Cfb and subtropical
highland for Köppen Cfb or Cwb, is a type of climate typically found along the
west coasts at the middle latitudes of some of the world's continents. This
climate generally features warm, but not hot summers and cool, but not cold
winters, with a narrow annual temperature range. It typically lacks a dry
season, as precipitation is more evenly dispersed through the year. It is the
predominant climate type across much of Europe, coastal northwestern North
America, portions of southern South America and Africa, southeast Australia,
New Zealand, as well as isolated locations elsewhere. There you have it.
